News is that Anushka's Rudrama Devi film release is again postponed. Intially, the director of the film GunaSekhar announced June 26, 2015 as the release date. However its now said that due to some delay in post production works they are holding it off for now. If everything goes well, they might release it on July 31, 2015.
The film is going to release in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. It is said that this film is the highest budget film out of all the films with a lady in the lead role.
The director of the film Gunasekhar initially had plans to release the movie during Sankranthi time in 2015. Somehow it didnt work as Anushka is not just part of Rudramadevi, but also busy with Baahubali shooting as well. Later, the director planned to release the film on July 26th, 2015. Now again its pushed to July 31, 2015.
The shooting of the film was started on Feb 14, 2013 in Warangal and the first shot was shot at the Thousand Pillar Temple in Warangal. In the film, Anushka plays the role of Kakatiya Princess. Allu Arjun and Rana also plays key roles in the movie. Allu Arjun plays the role of Gona Ganna Reddy.
The film story is based on the life of Rani Rudramadevi. Initially the director had Anushka, Nayanathara and Priyanka Chopra on mind but later zeroed on Anushka based on her performance in Arundhati film. For the role of Gona Ganna Reddy, the director first thought of Mahesh Babu and Jr. NTR, but later Allu Arjun himself came forward to do the role.
The soundtrack album and background score were composed by Ilaiyaraja.
