Well whats the news now ? A group of Indian actors and businesssmen in the UK have initiated legal proceedings against Queen Elizabeth II demanding the return of the precious stone.
Koh-i-Noor means "mountain of light" was once the world's largest cut diamond and had been exchanged from one ruling dynasty to another in India. Duleep Singh, the last Sikh ruler, travelled to Britain in 1850 and handed the Koh-i-Noor to Queen Victoria. The gem is now set in a Queen's mother's crown and is being displayed to the public in the Tower of London.
