The Queen of England hosts lunch for PM Modi at Buckingham Palace

The Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi met Queen Elizabeth II over lunch at Buckingham Palace, London on his 2nd day of his visit to the UK. Modi is in Britain for 3 days of cultural events and high level political and business meetings.

The conversation of the Royals and Modi is centred around building and revival of bonds based on History, the PMO says. The PMO also released photographs of the PM in coversation with the Queen. Post lunch, Modi took a look at the Royal collections and a series of old pictures of the Queen on her visit to India in 1961.


Modi gifted his English counterpart with hand crafted book ends of which were engraved veses from the Holy book of Bagavath Gita made of wood marble and silver and few books comprising of letters and stories in relevance to the World War I. He also presented the first lady with a unique GI protected Mirror and specially made stoles. 

India too would be hosting dinner to English Royal blood, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge William and Kate Middleton announced that they would be visiting India in spring 2016.

BTW, Wondering if he get to see the Koh-i-Noor diamond or not ? :p
