Summer in telugu speaking states and power crisis

This summer in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has reached to peak levels. The mercury has touched to 46 degree celsius in some areas leaving people in trouble. Reports revealed that around 225 people have died due to sun stroke. People have finally limited themselves to their homes in the hot noon and the roads wearing a deserted look.

The other big challenge this summer is power crisis. The power consumption went high as people stayed homes and their A.C/Coolers/Fans are turned on continuously. In the last 10 days, the consumption of power in these two states have gone up. Anticipating such a shortage, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has made the arrangements in advance. Also the Central Government has included Andhra Pradesh in the "Power for all" scheme which came as a boon for the telugu speaking people.

On May 17th, its said that the power consumption went from 116 million units to 135 million units. This resulted in consuming more power from the grids than permitted, and as a results many areas suffered low voltages.

Telangana Government too took steps to check the power shortages in advance and has been buying power as and when required.
